About The Artist

My name is Rhakagi Wahhab. I absolutely love, love, love creating unique conversation pieces for the home or special event. Rhakagi’s Works of Art is a collection of some of my projects I have tackled over the years. My creative journey started out with me re-upholstering furniture almost 19 years ago after taking some classes pregnant with my first child eager to learn a great skill that I could use to enhance the comfort and beauty of my husband and I’s home. After Learning how to re-upholster furniture I began to take a great interest in building storage ottomans, footstools, floor seats, storage floor seats & storage benches. Shortly after that, I enrolled in an interior decorating program. Then my interest turned to painting faux finishes on walls and old furniture. After learning how to faux finish, I began to come up with unusual Wall Art created with different forms of paper. Next up, was the creation of my Floral Centerpieces in a sculptured vase, Purse centerpieces, Shoe centerpieces and Artistic Lamps using my 3-dimensional sculpture paper & wire technique. I am passionate about all things made creatively and beautiful. Taking something that looks like trash and bringing it back to life making it more beautiful than imaged is truly exciting to me.
